Bulk Broken Link Checker

A bulk broken link checker crawls a whole site in one run and checks every link on every page it reaches, instead of testing one URL at a time. You submit a single starting URL and get back one report covering everything the crawl could find, including pages you had forgotten were still published. A single-URL checker answers one question at a time: is this link broken? That works for a handful of pages, but a real site has hundreds, and checking them one by one means opening each page, copying its links, and pasting them somewhere else, over and over. A bulk checker skips that: it crawls the site itself, follows the internal links to find every page, and checks every outbound link on every page it finds in one run. You paste one URL and get back the state of the whole site, not one page of it.

A documentation site has around 620 published pages carrying roughly 9,000 links between them. Checking that by hand, at a minute a page, is more than ten hours of clicking, and it is the kind of job nobody ever does twice, which means in practice it gets done once and then never again. A bulk crawl walks the internal link graph outward from the homepage, discovers the pages nobody remembered were still live, requests all 9,000 links, and returns the few dozen that actually fail. The effort of checking 620 pages and the effort of checking six are the same single paste.

On a small page, checking links by hand is realistic. On a site with hundreds of posts and thousands of links, it is not: by the time you finish checking the pages you remembered to check, the ones you checked first have already started to rot again. A bulk checker removes the bottleneck, which is your time, not the number of links. It crawls the whole site in one pass, so the effort of checking one page and checking a thousand is the same for you: paste the URL and read the report.
